On Wednesday, January 31, St. James Confirmation Ministry will be hosting a special speaker. Icy Mackley, a longtime member of St. James, will share her experience as an African-American woman growing up in Alabama during the Civil Rights Era. When she was a girl her family moved from California to Birmingham a year after the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church -an act of domestic terrorism perpetrated by white Christian Klansmen which killed four young girls. Mrs. Mackley's family attended that same church. Come hear her story. We start at 6:30 p.m. and will go to 7:30 p.m.
