ST. James' Armful of Love program is a St. James' Ministry that collects and distributes Christmas gifts for families who are facing difficult financial situations. We will be sponsoring St. James' families as well as individuals/families form local community agencies.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
PURCHASE GIFTS or GIFT CERTIFICATES: Tags with specific items (e.g., clothing, food/gas gift cards, toys, household items) for sponsored families and individuals will be available beginning October 29. The tags will be placed on a table in the narthex and outside the Fellowship Hall. Purchase only the item on the tag. Instead of purchasing extra gifts for an individual, consider taking another tag. Please sign and place the top part of the tag in the box on the table.
Buy the requested gift and return it no later than Sunday, November 26. Fill out and attach the bottom part of the tag to the gift. Please include a GIFT RECEIPT with your gift and write the price you paid for the gift on the red tag.
Bring the gift to the Idunda room and place it in the bag with the person’s name and family number on it between Sunday, November 12 and Sunday, November 26. Please do not bring the gifts before November 12, as we have no place to put them.
GIVE A MONETARY GIFT: Money donated will be used to buy gifts and gift certificates for families we sponsor. Checks should be made out to “St. James” with “Armful of Love” in the memo line. Envelopes marked “Armful of Love” are available in the pews.
SORT GIFTS: We will be sorting gifts every evening on Monday, November 27, and Tuesday, November 28, from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. High school students and adults are welcome to help with this. Sign up at the Answer Booth if you are interested in helping. Please bring a scissors.
WRAP GIFTS: We will be wrapping gifts on Saturday, December 2, beginning at 9:00 A.M. and working until about noon. Adults as well as students in grades 7-12 are welcome to help with this. Sign up at the Answer Booth if you are able to help us. Please bring a scissors.
ALL GIFTS MUST BE BROUGHT TO CHURCH NO LATER THAN SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26, SO THEY CAN BE SORTED AND WRAPPED.
