Tonight at St. James - Meal, Pack, and Worship (6:00 - 8:00p.m), we will share a free congregational meal, pack @200 Comfort Meals for the freezer, and worship around tables in the Fellowship Hall.
We will light candles and pray for all those who have suffered loss and pain in Las Vegas and for all the victims of gun violence. Pastor Walt's sermon will focus on responding to the attack earlier this week.
At Table, we eat together as a community - caring for one another so that not one of us is alone. At Table, we will pack meals that will be shared within and beyond our community so that Jesus' love and comfort is made known. At Table, we pray for peace. We seek love. At Table, we receive again the life of Jesus - a life connected by the grace of God. At Table we are strengthened for a tangible and loving response.
“Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.
Come tonight and experience love at our Wednesday Table.
