From Praize Wee to Soul Fire

Our Journey So Far  (January 2015 – April 2017)

Soul Fire

Praize Wee started in January 2015, a new Children's Choir for children in grades 2-6. We sang an anthem once a month to share God's Word through music! From September 2015 through May 2016, we continued to sing once a month, which included singing with all the adult choirs! Moving forward into 2016-2017, it became apparent that new ways of engaging and challenging these talented singers were needed. With that in mind, we expanded the grade level of our choir to include 7th and 8th graders. We then received approval to lead worship three times during the choir season and engaged our choir members to participate in reading the Prayers of Intercession. Praize Wee was a fun name, a great name chosen by the choir members and served us well! However, you may have noticed that Praize Wee isn't so “Wee” anymore and we have outgrown the name! To continue our growth in Faith Formation through our music ministry, our choir name needed to be more inclusive, inviting and welcoming to all our children and youth in grades 2-8. Given this, the choir enthusiastically voted for “Soul Fire” as their new name!
