Liturgy of Hope in a Time of Sorrow Aired 11/3/2021
“Each of us comes bearing our own hurts, sorrows, broken places. We invite each of you to offer your personal wound to the God who loves each of us deeply and wants to carry our pain. God waits patiently, gently calling out: ‘Give me your paint, come to me… all who labor and are heavy laden, I will refresh you!’”
If you have experienced loss this year, St. James Lutheran invites you to our community service of grief, remembrance, and hope. Whether it be from COVID-19, the life of a loved one, a relationship, health, income, or simply your sureness in what the next step will be, we will name our losses aloud and pray to keep our light in the darkness strong.
The service will be online only. There are opportunities for you to chime in at home as well. Candles will be lit as tangible symbols of loss and hope.
