Our story today was the one from Genesis 12:1-9 about how God called Abram to leave his home and trust Him, promising to bless him and make his family into a great nation that would bring God's blessing to the whole world. This story teaches us that when we obey God and trust His plans, He can use us to do amazing things for others!
Since today was the day the 3rd Graders got their Bibles, the students in grades 3-5 also reviewed how to use the Bible: the difference between the old and new testaments, how to look up a book, chapter and verse, and even how to use the table of contents. They also played a game where they raced to see who could use their Bibles and put tiny wooden "books" of the bible back in the correct order first. The girls insisted we play "girls against the boys," so we formed two teams and it ended up in a tie!
